A Santa Claus Troll Face post.
Someone tells you Father Christmas isn't real, and you simply smile back at them. Nothing they say next lands. You have known this for years and you are delighted that they have only just found out. It is the first of December and the office has already put up a tree, a rota and a Secret Santa with a £5 limit. Somebody has bought a £4.99 candle and told everyone it was £5. You know exactly who. Your aunt asks at dinner what you want this year. You say "nothing, honestly". She buys you socks. You open them with the face of a man who has just won something small and terrible. The group chat wishes everyone a merry Christmas at 12:01 on the 25th. By 12:03 someone has sent the one about the film with the villain who falls off a skyscraper. It happens every year, and it is the real tradition. **Why it caught on:** the picture is the Trollface, a crude drawing of a grinning face first posted online in 2008, with a Santa hat and beard added. It was captioned with a wicked "ho ho ho" or a spoiler about Santa, to show the trolling at its most seasonal. It spread because every December gives people a reason to wind up their friends and relatives, and the face does it without saying a word.
