Your phone is on 4%, the charger is in the other room, and the group chat has decided on a "quick" night out. You smile, nod, and quietly start planning an entirely separate evening that you'll run yourself. The company announces a new internal tool. It has a login you can't get past, a tutorial you can't finish and a feedback form that needs the login. You consider building your own, with blackjack and hookers. Someone asks if the dinner is formal. Nobody knows. You go in a shirt and tie, and it turns out to be burgers in a car park. You eat the burger like it's a state banquet. The thread has 400 comments, all of them arguing about the wrong thing, and the original question is still unanswered. You type a long, careful reply. Then you delete it and post one line. **Why it caught on:** the picture is Bender, the foul-mouthed robot from the animated series Futurama, in a fur coat, holding a small bottle with a stern look. His line about leaving to build his own casino with blackjack and hookers became the standard way to storm out of any situation, and people stuck their own project onto it: a phone, an internet, a school, a file-sharing site. The same sentence also got translated into Spanish with "juegos de azar y mujerzuelas", and the "IMHO" captions turned the stern stare into a way of delivering a verdict nobody asked for.
