You hold up a drawing, a joke or a haircut and wait for praise. The reply is a distracted "mm, nice" from someone who has not looked up from their phone.

Why it caught on: the picture is Homer Simpson from *The Simpsons*, caught wide-eyed with his mouth open and his hands raised like claws. It was captioned in a "look Marge, I'm a..." format, where the top line names a type of person and the bottom line puts a stock complaint in their mouth. In the late 2010s it was used mostly for political jokes. The stereotypes were liberals and Democrats as overexcited, quick to blame Russia and ruled by their feelings, plus millennials as convinced they are special. Anyone could swap in a new target in ten seconds, which kept it going.
