Life means so much to me that I will not accept a life that is objectively empty and meaningless. A life without hope, without purpose, without a future, and devoid of happiness is futile. Despite popular belief this is neither selfish nor thoughtless. Quite the contrary. It is the ultimate declaration of personal meaning and ownership. There is nothing in the world to which every person has a more unassailable title than to their own life and person.
