pretended that the jedi mind trick worked / didn't want to take one shot and die
A Sad Trooper meme.
Sad Trooper is a Star Wars stormtrooper in a dejected pose, the anonymous soldier of the Empire having a bad day. Captions describe the lonely, unlucky or thankless side of life - missing every shot, being sent on yet another pointless mission. It's the meme for melancholy with a helmet on.
