Someone at the next table says the pub has a new menu, and you lean in like it's gossip. It's the same burger, but now it comes with a small flag in it. The group chat finally agrees on a date for the holiday, and you point at the screen with both hands like you've won the lottery. Nobody has booked anything. The date is still a triumph. Your team scores in the ninetieth minute, you are on your feet before you've decided to be, and you are pointing at the telly at nobody in particular. The neighbours definitely heard. **Why it caught on:** the picture shows a toddler with a mop of curly hair, bare-chested, mouth wide open and both index fingers pointing at the camera, set against a purple background. People captioned it with whatever deserved a loud, delighted reaction, from "Wow!" to links to other posts, and it spread because pure, unembarrassed excitement is easy to borrow.
