OMG! :)))))
A sparta post.
The meeting invite says "quick catch-up". You walk in with one reasonable point about the budget. Forty seconds later you are leaning over the table, voice cracked, and the whole team is looking at the person who only wanted to ask about biscuits. Someone in the group chat writes "just a thought" and then proposes pineapple on the pizza for the whole office. You type a calm reply. You delete it. You type a much longer one and send it, and this is the version that gets screenshotted. Your flatmate eats the yoghurt with your name on it, in your handwriting, in the fridge you have been defending for two years. You open the door and stand very still. The lightbulb inside suddenly feels like a stage light. Mild disagreement about a film plot at 11pm becomes a full debate with raised arms. Everyone agrees afterwards that nobody cared who was right. Nobody remembers the plot either. **Why it caught on:** the picture is Gerard Butler as King Leonidas in the 2007 film *300*, mid-roar just before the famous line "This is Sparta!", delivered as he kicks a messenger into a pit. The shouting face was dropped onto a bright rainbow background in the style of the classic image macros, and it became the standard way to caption sudden, disproportionate fury, from quotations out of the film to local jokes and politics in different countries. It spread because everyone has a small thing that makes them lose it completely, and the face makes that loss of control look heroic.
