In January you point at your reflection in the gym mirror and promise to make this year great again. In February you cancel the membership. It's fired. Your phone autocorrects "on my way" to "in my way" for the fourth time this week. You stare at it. You're one more mistake away from upgrading. **Why it caught on:** it's the pose from The Apprentice, the NBC show he hosted from 2004, where the pointing finger came right before "You're fired." A finger and a catchphrase are all a meme needs, and this picture came with both.
