Your colleague says "guess who's covering the weekend shift" and you already know. You knew when the rota went out. You knew when nobody else looked up from their screen. It's the third round of drinks, you've said "I'm fine, I've got work tomorrow", and the whole table has nodded like they believe you. Guess who is a ghost until noon, then a very quiet person with a very large coffee. Your mate announces they're finally going to the gym, taking up running and giving up crisps. You smile and say nothing. You've seen this before, and the crisps always win by the second week. Somebody says they'll definitely reply to the group chat today. Guess who read it three days ago, replied in their head, and has been composing the perfect message ever since. **Why it caught on:** the picture is a simple black-and-white pictogram of a smiling bald figure pointing a thumb at its own chest, in the style of a clip-art or sign-language illustration. People captioned it with "guess who" followed by a smug claim about themselves, usually a refusal, a bad decision or an admission, and the deadpan, self-satisfied face made any of them funnier.
