I spelled everything Right / Today was a good day
A Ice Cube- Today was a Good day post.
The 7:52 arrives at 7:52. There's a seat, the person beside you gets off at the next stop, and nobody plays video on speaker. You step off the train feeling oddly protected by the universe. You open the post and the parcel has turned up a day early, not left with a neighbour you've never met. It's the right item, in the right size, and the box wasn't crushed by a van. The meeting you dreaded is cancelled with one line: "Let's pick this up next week." You close the laptop, make tea and glance at the calendar as if it might change its mind. The wifi holds through a whole film. No buffering wheel, no frozen face mid-sentence on a video call, no router restart. You sit there, faintly suspicious, waiting for the catch. **Why it caught on:** the picture is a still from the video for Ice Cube's "It Was a Good Day", from the early 1990s, showing him cruising in a convertible with a calm, satisfied look. People captioned it with a small piece of luck, or sometimes news that was quietly petty or tasteless, then finished with "today was a good day". It spread because the bar for a good day is lower than anyone admits, and the calm face fits every version.
