Marge! come quick!!! / I'm Jeremy beadle
A look-marge post.
Sunday lunch, and your dad has just discovered the thing you've known for years. He tells the whole table as though he's cracked something. Nobody has the heart to say it's been on the packaging all along. You work out how to turn the subtitles on, and you need everyone present to know. Nobody asked. You do it again during the next programme, just in case the room missed it. Someone at the pub mentions they still buy albums. The silence is brief, then you say it anyway: you pay for music too. There is no prize. You hold your pint a little higher. A relative on a video call announces that the whole family is now looking at one another through glass. Everyone nods. Everyone is also checking their own face in the corner box. **Why it caught on:** the picture is Homer Simpson from *The Simpsons*, hands raised and eyes wide, cut out against a plain black background. People caption it as Homer pointing out something to Marge, with the line opening "Look Marge" and the rest being whatever smug or obvious thing the poster wants to claim, from brand loyalty to politics. It spread because the format fits any proud observation in a single line, and Homer is the perfect person to say it.
