Your profile picture has been the default grey silhouette for four years. Every time someone asks why, you say you're "between photos". You are not between anything. The group chat needs a mascot for the five-a-side team. Nobody can agree, the shortlist is a badger and a photo of Gary mid-sneeze, and the vote has been open since August. You open a game and the lobby says "waiting for players". You are the player. You wait anyway, because somewhere out there is a buddy who also doesn't have one. It's the fourteenth of February, the restaurant is fully booked, and your plans consist of a ready meal for one and a very strong opinion about the film on. Standards have been adjusted. **Why it caught on:** the picture is Dr Zoidberg, the red, crab-clawed alien doctor from the animated series Futurama, who is forever overlooked, underpaid and ignored by the rest of the crew. His desperate pitch for himself as the answer to any problem became the format, a "need X?" line followed by "why not Zoidberg?", and it spread because the character is the last choice anyone would make, which makes him the funniest one to suggest.
