negative people / negative people everywhere
A Toy story post.
Someone presents the new plan to the room with a sweeping hand. Slides, charts, a roadmap that goes to 2030. Everyone nods. One person at the back is quietly doing the sums on the budget and has gone pale. You show a friend your flat in the city. "Look at all this space," you say, and gesture at the window. They look at the bins, the scaffolding and the neighbour's washing line. Everywhere you look, more of it. The group chat finds a new thing to be upset about on a Tuesday. Within an hour it is everywhere: the news, the other group chat, your mum's Facebook. You only wanted to know what time the pub opened. Someone says "have you noticed the adverts for this thing?" and now you can't stop. Billboards, buses, the side of the van parked outside. It was always there. You just got told. **Why it caught on:** the picture is a still from Pixar's *Toy Story* (1995), showing Buzz Lightyear with an arm around Woody, gesturing grandly at something out of shot while Woody looks worried. Captioned "X, X everywhere", it became a template for pointing out that something is absolutely all around us. It spread because the format is simple: name anything, repeat it, and the joke works. Posters filled it with everything from politics to puns to the unprintable.
