Faggots / faggots everywhere!
A Buzz post.
Your mate announces there's a new takeaway place, then a second one, then a third. You open the app and it's all there, glowing in a long scroll. Chicken, chicken, chicken, and one sad salad nobody asked about. You buy one cheap lamp and the internet decides that's your whole personality. Now every advert, every sidebar and every email is lamps, lamps, lamps. You already own the lamp. After one mention of a dentist, a week of dentists. After one mention of a holiday, flights. The phone listens, or doesn't, and either way the result is the same: you can't open anything without it being there. You learn a new word on Monday. By Wednesday it's in the paper, on the radio, in a podcast and on the lanyard of a man on the train. It was always there. You just weren't looking. **Why it caught on:** the picture is a still from Pixar's *Toy Story* (1995), with Buzz Lightyear showing Woody something off-screen while Woody looks uneasy. It was captioned with a noun on top and the same noun plus "everywhere" below, and the format fits anything that suddenly seems to be all around you. Any word will do, which is why it kept spreading, from snacks and deadbeats to lovebugs and slow people.
