What if the reason we have no visitors from the future / is because we have no future
A Conspiracy Keanu post.
Conspiracy Keanu is a still of Keanu Reeves as Ted in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989), wide-eyed in mid-revelation. The meme took off in 2010. Ted is not a deep thinker, which is exactly why his sudden, shocked insight is so convincing. Captions start with "What if" and spiral. The top line opens the thought; the bottom finishes it somewhere unexpected. "What if we're all in a simulation... and déjà vu is a glitch?" "What if my dog thinks I'm the one walking him?" "What if colors look different to everyone... and we just agreed on names?" The questions aren't really conspiracies. They're the thoughts that arrive at 3 a.m. and feel enormous, then sound silly at breakfast. Keanu - widely known as one of the nicest people in Hollywood - makes even the silliest one feel worth considering. **Why it caught on:** everyone has had a mind-blowing thought that isn't, and this is exactly what it feels like.
