The top line is an ordinary problem. The bottom line is the most extreme response possible, in capital letters. "Someone cuts in line - CUT IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE QUEUE." "Hungry at 3 a.m. - EAT BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER." "Coworker steals your stapler - STAPLE YOUR DESK TO HIS." The humor is pure escalation. Nobody takes the advice, which is the point - it's the voice in your head that you sensibly ignore, finally given a megaphone and a set of fangs. **Why it caught on:** sometimes the most satisfying answer is the one no sane person would give.
