Advice Yoda is the Jedi master from Star Wars, first seen in The Empire Strikes Back (1980), performed and voiced by Frank Oz. He speaks in his trademark backward word order. Yoda trained Jedi for 900 years. Now he helps with dating, homework and leftovers. The top and bottom lines together form one piece of advice, rearranged into Yoda-speak. "Text her back you must not. Desperate you will look." "Reply all, do not." "Check the fridge again, you will. Food there still is not." The fun is reading ordinary tips in his voice - the grammar makes everything sound ancient and wise. Most of the advice is sensible. Some of it is terrible. In Yoda's voice it's hard to tell, which is a valuable lesson in itself. **Why it caught on:** the backward sentences make anything sound like timeless wisdom.
