I asked her to prom / but my sister said 'no'
A gordo granudo post.
Your aunt asks at the family lunch whether you've got anyone special. You say you're "still on the tutorial level" and refill your glass before anyone can follow up. It lands better in your head than it does at the table. The doctor says you need to move more. You nod gravely, leave with a leaflet, and spend the evening researching a standing desk that you will, for the record, never stand at. A friend texts: "Fancy getting some fresh air?" You reply "define fresh". Forty minutes later you're still in the same chair, and the window is open, so technically that counts. Someone calls the weather "glorious" and suggests a walk. You agree it looks lovely, from here, through the glass, with the brightness turned down. **Why it caught on:** the picture shows a young man with glasses, a ponytail and a patchy beard against a bright burst of colour, and it became an image macro known in English as Butthurt Dweller. The stereotype it played on was the basement-dwelling gamer who treats real life like a video game and has no luck with romance. The format spread because it is so easy: a normal grown-up question on the first line, an answer in game logic on the second.
