A patrick star post.

Someone says "we should probably tell the boss about this" in a meeting, and the whole room goes quiet. Everyone looks at the person who said it. It was a good idea. It is now also their problem. You open the shared fridge and see one slice of pizza left. By the time you shut the door you've already decided. The note on the box says "Dave's". Dave is on holiday until Thursday. A group chat has been quietly agreeing on a plan for two days. Then one person says "right, so who's actually booking it?" and nine people go offline at once. Someone suggests, with great confidence, that the company simply takes the thing everybody hates and moves it somewhere else. Nobody asks how. It sounds like a solution, so it gets a thumbs up and a calendar invite. **Why it caught on:** the picture is Patrick Star from *SpongeBob SquarePants*, pointing and gesturing wildly at a crowd of startled fish. In the episode he is rallying them behind a plan of his own. Online it became a template for a grand, badly thought-out proposal, usually opening with "Let's take all the..." and ending with a neat swap of one thing for another. It spread because the format is easy to fill in: anyone can propose a sweeping fix to a problem, from DLC to bread crusts, in two lines.
